Privacy
Plain version: we collect what we need to sell, ship and support your order. If you say yes to ads cookies, we also use Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and TikTok tools to measure our ads and show you relevant ones. Some state laws call that "selling" or "sharing" data for targeted advertising. You can say no in the cookie banner, under "Your Privacy Choices", or with Global Privacy Control, and we respect it.
What we collect
- Order details: name, email, phone (optional), shipping address and what you buy.
- Payment: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Account: your email, and a session cookie when you sign in. No passwords.
- Your bag and saved measurements stay in your own browser, not on our servers, and are never sent to ad platforms.
- Photos you upload for a problem with an item, reviews and messages.
- Device and visit info: IP address, browser and device type, and the page you arrived on.
- Where you came from: the campaign tags in the link you clicked (source, medium, campaign, content, term), the site that sent you, ad click IDs (Meta "fbclid", TikTok "ttclid"), a Circle creator's link or code, and your optional answer to "How did you hear about us?" after checkout. We keep this with your order to learn which marketing works.
Advertising tools: Meta and TikTok
Only if you accept ads cookies, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, and the TikTok Pixel and TikTok Events API. The pixels run in your browser. The Conversions API and Events API send the same kinds of events from our server, which keeps ad measurement accurate when browsers block scripts.
- What we may send: page views, add to bag, checkout started and purchase (order value, currency, product IDs); your email and phone scrambled with SHA-256 before they leave our systems; your city, state and ZIP, also scrambled; IP address and browser type; ad click IDs and the _fbp, _fbc and _ttp cookie values; and an event ID so one purchase is never counted twice.
- Why: to see which ads work, to improve our campaigns, and to show hugmode ads to people who may like them, including you.
- Scrambled (hashed) data protects your email and phone in transit, but Meta and TikTok may match it to accounts on their platforms, so we treat it as personal information.
- If you have not accepted, have opted out, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we do not load the pixels and do not send server events about you.
- Meta and TikTok handle this data under their own policies: Meta, TikTok.

Ads cookies are off until you click Accept. You can change your choice any time here:
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, even if you clicked Accept before. To opt out for your account too, email hugmode@modernerabrands.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share". You do not need an account to opt out.
Who we share it with, and why
- Stripe (payments; Circle creator payouts and identity checks), our fulfillment partners (to pack and ship your order), Resend (email), Cloudflare (hosting and security).
- Meta and TikTok, for ad measurement and advertising, only if you accept ads cookies and have not opted out.
- Circle creators: when you buy through a creator's link or code, the creator sees that an order happened, its value and its status, never your name, email or address.
- When the law requires it, to protect our customers and business, or if hugmode is sold or merged.
- We never sell your data for money.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and the other states with privacy laws in effect), you can ask to know, get a copy of, correct or delete your personal information, and opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising. Email hugmode@modernerabrands.com. We confirm it is you through the email on your orders, answer within 45 days, accept requests from an authorized agent, and never treat you differently for using your rights. If we say no, reply to appeal; you can also contact your state attorney general. Our site is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share data of anyone under 16.
Circle creators
If you apply to the hugmode Circle we also keep your social handles and follower counts (read from the platforms or confirmed by a reviewer), your verification code, your content, identity-check results and payout details (held by Stripe), tax information from your W-9, and your commission history, to check eligibility, pay commission, file tax forms and enforce the program terms.
How long we keep data
- Orders and payments: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
- Where-you-came-from data and survey answers: kept with the order.
- Data used to report a purchase to ad platforms (IP, browser, ad cookies): 90 days.
- Marketing email: until you unsubscribe, plus a do-not-email record.
- Account: until you delete it (order records stay as required by law).
Order emails are sent to everyone who orders. Marketing emails only go to people who agreed, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
